The importance of commit messages | Wildbit am 12. November 2008 unter programming Subversion

Communication is the mantra of two of my long-time feeds. Proper communication of your actions adds tremendous value to your work. Without good communication skills you’re nothing but a lone ‘hacker’ doing stuff for yourself. And what can be better than talking with the team without leaving your favorite text editor/IDE?

Worlds worst hacker. IRC transcript « TheMostBoringBlogInTheWorld am 7. November 2008 unter irc lesen weird

What happened is clear: That guy entered his own IP-Adress in his mighty Hack-Tool and crashed his own PC. This way, the attack on my PC was a failure. I was already starting to think that I did not have to worry, but a good hacker never calls it a day. Two minutes later he returned.

I learned a new CSS trick from one of the best insane inventor webdevs I know. The pieces have been out there for some time, it seems, but I hadn’t ever seen this spelled out as simply and elegantly as he did it. Inline-block layout solves a lot of problems. It lets you do some cool stuff previously thought impossible with CSS. It makes vertical alignment work properly. And sadly, it’s supported pretty badly.

SPE IDE - Stani's Python Editor: How to make money with free software... am 1. November 2008 unter art design money python

The Dutch Ministry of Finance organized an architecture competition for which a selected group of architectural offices (unstudio, nox, ...) and artists were invited, including myself. The goal of the competition was not to design a building, but the new 5 euro commemorative coin with the theme 'Netherlands and Architecture'. The winner will be rewarded with a nice price, but most of all with the honor: his design will be realized and will be a legal coin within the Netherlands.
